Welcome to the Dinah Mission! Thank you for being here! Did you stumble across this platform? Was the search on Google intentional? Regardless, I am glad that you made it here as we have so much in store for you. DINAH stands for the Diaspora Interventiona Network of Awareness and Healing. Yes, we stand for Healing and Awareness within our beautiful and diverse Black communities.

Healing is one of the first steps one can use to gain the best possible outcome from all aspects of life. This recognition and awareness is therefore vital within our communities. We focus on the different African communities as a whole, whether within the continent of Africa or the diaspora. In like manner, we seek to build strong connections to intervene on behalf of individuals that have been mentally traumatized. We will create safe spaces for women and girls that have been victimized in their lifetime in order to gain complete empowerment.

About Ohemaa

Indeed, I am Ohemaa a young lady of African descent currently living in the eastern part of Canada. I am the owner and founder of The DINAH Mission which is a nonprofit organization seeking to provide a haven of awareness and healing for Afro-Canadian girls and women survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Do you want to know more about me? Feel free to contact me to ask all of your questions or make your concerns known. I am always happy to hear from you, and I am in great expectation to answer all of your questions. This is a quick introduction to my newly created website as I welcome my lovely audience to this platform.

We believe that women are the backbone of society. Empowered girls, make empowered women that eventually raise and support empowered families who then contribute to society in immense ways. Our goal is to, therefore, create opportunities for self-development by providing the tools required for the healing of childhood sexual trauma. We are involved in the community and conduct multiple impactful initiatives to empower women and girls. These initiatives will gradually be mentioned on our multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc…). Our desire is to connect with you and build strong and impactful relationships within the community.

Invoking Conversations

Life has a beautiful way of teaching compelling lessons, doesn’t it? As a student of life, I place my efforts into empowering girls and women within our community. Notably, I am aware of the impact on other communities. However, being an individual of African descent, I have witnessed the trivialization and neglect of mental wellness within our communities. Moreover, within the different African and diasporic-African (Caribbean, Afro American, etc) contexts, such conversations are suppressed and often overlooked. For these reasons, we are determined to invoke conversations that will benefit our communities in the long run and capacitate women and girls to be the best version of themselves.

Now that you know a little bit about me, feel free to stick around and visit my multiple social media websites for more information on the events and activities coming up!
